As part of our faculty’s LFS Scholar Seminar Series, the Human Nutrition faculty team had the honor and pleasure to invite and host Prof Mary Ward as international speaker for the March 2025 LFS Scholar Seminar. Dr Ward is a Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at the Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food and Health (NICHE) at Ulster University, Coleraine, Northern Ireland, and the current President of the British Nutrition Society.
Prof Ward gave a fantastic talk about “Health Benefits of Optimizing B-vitamin Status Across the Life Cycle and Impact of Transitioning to Healthy Diets from Sustainable Sources”, highlighting novel findings from her interdisciplinary research program and also a recent collaboration with our team, and shared the exciting news about the newly established Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems.
